Who

Hi, I’m Mark. And I think the story is better than we think it is.

I started this website when I left my corporate job of 16 years to pursue God’s call to ministry and a personal passion for seeing people come to understand how good their story is. I have spent the last 10 years on the preaching team at City’s Edge Community Church in Beaverton, Oregon, worked with the youth there, and currently lead discussions with and enjoy the company of the young adults at that church. I am currently a seminary student at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon. I have been a resident of the greater Portland area for my adult life, most recently in Tigard, where I live with my wife Lauralea.

In addition to the website, preaching, and our young adults, I have coffee with people, which I believe is a great ministry. If you are in the area and want to talk and drink an excellent cup of coffee, shoot me an email.

There is, of course, much more to my story than this, and one day I will write it all down. Until then, I am going to leave a short list of some of my favorite books. One of my future plans for this website is book reviews, but until then, these have all been formative for me in one way or another, and may tell you something about me.

On faithful Christian living: Living Faithfully in a Fragmented World

On Mission: The Irresistible Revolution

On Important Disagreement: The Ball and the Cross

On Money: God’s Economy

Anything C.S. Lewis ever wrote

(FYI, these and all book links on the site are amazon affiliate links. I will only link to books I actually find it worthwhile to read)
